AI & Data Practices

Last updated September 2, 2026

DTR Operations is the trading name of DTR Operations Group, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company (SCC ID 12072658). It is not an AI tool company. AI is one capability we use to research faster — the recommendations that actually reach you are decided by a human co-founder, every time. This page explains exactly where and how AI is used, in plain language.

Where AI is used

Every submission gets a free Business Snapshot the moment you submit — this is generated automatically, deterministically, from your own answers. No AI model is called for this step; it's a straightforward summary of what you told us.

If you move forward with the Full DTR Diagnostic, we run an automated research pass using Anthropic's Claude API across our six lenses: Legal, State & Federal, Financial, Operational, Market Fit, and Demand & Visibility. The AI researches and drafts; it does not decide what you receive.

Where human judgment enters

Every full diagnostic is read and reviewed by Donald or Tiffany Roberts personally before it is shared with you. This is a permanent policy, not a temporary one — there is no path in our system that sends an AI-generated report directly to a client without human review first.

What data reaches the AI

The business information you submit in your intake form — what you told us about your business, industry, financials, location, and goals — is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the research draft. We do not send your name, email, or contact information to the AI beyond what's needed for the research itself. If you asked us to research funding or certification programs (the optional Funding & Certification Research question), your selections are included so the AI can research those programs — they are never used for anything else, and skipping the question doesn't limit any other part of your assessment. The deeper intake questions require you to check an explicit consent box before they can be submitted.

Is your data used to train AI models?

No. According to the provider's current commercial API policies, data submitted through Anthropic's commercial API is not used to train their models by default. We have not opted into any data-sharing or model-training program with Anthropic or any other AI provider. Vendor policies are set by the vendor and can change over time — this page describes their policy as we currently understand it, and our own practices, which we control and will update here if they change.

What AI does not do

Accuracy and limitations

AI-assisted research can be wrong, incomplete, or miss context a human would catch — which is exactly why human review is mandatory before anything reaches you. Findings involving law, tax, licensing, or regulatory compliance should always be verified with a licensed professional or the relevant government agency directly; we say this explicitly in every deliverable.
