Step 02, explained
What “six lenses” actually means.
Your report isn’t one opinion about your business — it’s six separate research passes, each looking at a different way a business succeeds or gets hurt. Every report covers all six, and each lens ends with a plain-language note on what it means for you. Lenses 05 and 06 are deliberately separate: a business can sit in a healthy market and still be invisible in it, and those two problems have completely different fixes.
Legal
Readiness review — not a compliance determination
Entity structure, licensing, and where you’re exposed to liability — researched from public and government sources, with anything that needs a real attorney flagged as exactly that. This lens reports what the research found and what to verify; it is not a legal opinion and DTR does not determine that you are compliant.
State & Federal
Registration, permits, and which agencies actually govern you — named, so you know where to look rather than guessing.
Financial
A directional read on startup and operating costs, a sanity check on your pricing, and roughly where break-even sits.
Operational
What running this day to day actually takes: staffing, suppliers, tools, and logistics.
Market Fit
Whether the demand is actually there: your competitive landscape, real demand signal, and the sharpest risk to the idea itself.
Demand & Visibility
Whether buyers can find and choose you — measured, not guessed: your real review gap against named competitors, and what your site actually tells search engines.
Every lens works from what you give us at intake plus what DTR’s own checks can measure. Anything a lens cannot verify is labelled as unverified in the report rather than estimated. Legal and financial statements are either cited or flagged for a licensed professional.
